Peter Karcher

Peter is a graduate of the University of Sydney, with Honours degrees in both Law and Arts. He worked for a year for a judge of the New South Wales Supreme Court before his admission in 1998. Peter joined Gray & Perkins in 2000.

Peter has extensive experience in commercial and transactional matters across a range of industries, including a specialised understanding of the intellectual property aspects of such matters. He is familiar with the complexities involved in advising on a wide range of commercial agreements and arrangements including shareholder agreements, property licensing, distribution agreements, software development and support agreements, services agreements and executive employment contracts. Business acquisitions and disposals, and large government tenders, are two areas in which Peter has particular expertise.

IT companies, investment managers, tourism companies, publishers, and cosmetic companies are amongst the clients who regularly rely on Peter’s legal knowledge and transactional skills. Peter regularly gives presentations on his chosen areas of law, and has published numerous articles in industry journals and other publications.
